Harper counted for approximately 16 hours per day until he finished. Viewers could watch him live on the website 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for free. During his count, he appeared on CNN, Fox News, Cnet, as well as many national and local TV and radio shows. On September 14, 2007 at 7:25 p.m. EST he reached one million. The count raised money for his supporting charity Push America,〔Gordon, Amy (2007) "(Counting to 1 million raises money on Web )", ''Gadsden Times'', August 3, 2007, retrieved 2010-10-29〕 raising over $10,000.
